Org Chart Maker
Edit a reporting hierarchy on a diagram canvas.
Try it: Adapt the starter reporting hierarchy
- Replace the fictional names in the organisation template.
- Add a person by placing a new shape, editing its label and connecting it to a manager.
- Move nodes with grid and snap enabled, then review reporting lines before export.
Additional nodes are positioned manually. CSV import and automatic tree layout are not supported; use saved JSON for editable imports.
About Org Chart Maker
Org charts are needed for onboarding, planning and reorganisations — and they are a list of named employees and their reporting lines, which is personal data.
Editable text cards connected by reporting lines.
How Org Chart Maker works in your browser
The starter hierarchy is already positioned. Additional nodes and reporting lines are arranged manually; there is no automatic tree layout or CSV employee import.
Use each text label for a name, title and department. Export JSON for later editing, or SVG and PNG for sharing.
Everything stays in this tab. A complete org chart is a roster of your staff, their seniority and your management structure — useful to a recruiter, useful to anyone attempting social engineering, and routinely uploaded to free chart tools.
When to use it
Producing a chart for an induction pack. Planning a reorganisation before it is announced. Documenting reporting lines for an audit or a funding application. Mapping a team structure containing staff names without putting it on a third-party service.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to build the tree by hand?
A starter hierarchy is provided. Edit the labels and arrange additional nodes and connectors manually. You can also import a previously saved Diagram Studio JSON file.
What appears on each card?
An editable text label. Use separate lines for a name, title and department.
Is the layout automatic?
No. The starter template is arranged for you, but new nodes are positioned manually. Grid and snap controls help align them.
