Office Utilities has no backend. Your documents are read, processed and written entirely inside this browser tab — there is no upload endpoint they could be sent to.

Choosing a file gives this page a reference to it in memory. Every tool works on that in-memory copy. Your file is never POSTed, streamed or beaconed anywhere.
You do not have to take that on trust — the source code is public.
We do not send file names, types, sizes or contents anywhere. The names and sizes of files you recently opened are kept only in this browser, in the history listed below. We could not attribute a conversion to you even if we wanted to, because the conversion happens on your machine.
There is nothing to sign up for and no email address to hand over. What this site itself stores on your device is listed below.
Once loaded, the service worker keeps the whole toolkit available without a connection — which is only possible because nothing needs a server round-trip.
This site is free and is paid for by advertising. Ads are supplied by Google AdSense, a third party, which sets its own cookies on your device to measure and personalise what you see. Those cookies are not set by us and are not part of the list below.
For that, Google may use your IP address and the address of the page you are on. It never receives your documents. Everything above still holds: files are opened and converted on this device and are never sent anywhere, which is a property of how the tools work rather than a promise about who we sell to.
You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, advertising and analytics storage is switched off by default.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits.
You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.
To be useful across visits, your preferences and a history of recently used tools and recently opened files (name, size, type and time, not the file itself) are saved in your browser's local storage. All of it is listed here, and you can erase it at any time.
Nothing is currently stored.
The site is served as static files. Whoever hosts those files can see standard web-server request logs — the pages and assets your browser fetched, your IP address and user agent. That is unavoidable for any website. It does not include anything about your documents, because your documents are never part of a request.
Advertising is served by Google, which loads its scripts from Google's domains and sets its own cookies. What it does is described under Advertising above.
Visitor numbers are counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records the page address, the site that referred you, your country, and your browser and device type — enough to know which pages people read. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and cannot follow you to other sites.
Google Analytics is also used, to see which pages people arrive on and which tools get used. It records the page address, the referring site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and your browser and device type. Unlike the Cloudflare counter it does set cookies — _ga and _ga_PJCQ3KKJ0X — which last up to two years and exist to tell a returning visitor from a new one.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland those cookies are not set: consent defaults to denied there, and because no consent message is shown yet it stays denied. File download and form tracking are switched off, so the names of files you save are never recorded.
Those three — Google's advertising, Google Analytics and the Cloudflare counter — are the only external services. Every library the app uses is bundled and served from this domain, and no fonts are fetched from anywhere else. None of them receives anything about the documents you open, because those are never part of a request.
Buttons like "Share" use your operating system's native share sheet, which hands the file to an app you pick. That is the one case where a file can leave this browser, and only because you explicitly chose a destination.
We hold nothing about you. There is no account, no profile and no server-side record, so there is nothing for us to retain or to delete on request. Clearing your browser storage removes everything this site itself has ever kept.
Google's advertising cookies are separate from that and are governed by Google's own policies, which include its own controls for reviewing and deleting the data it holds.
If the architecture ever changes — for example if a tool genuinely required a server — that tool would be labelled clearly before you used it, and this page would say so.
Advertising on this site can be personalised using cookies Google sets in your browser. Several US state privacy laws treat that as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and give you the right to refuse it. You can do that here, and the choice is remembered on this device.
This setting does not affect the page-view counting described above, which does not identify you and is not shared for advertising. To object to that as well, block googletagmanager.com in your browser, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Analytics storage defaults to denied for these regions. No ads are loaded yet, so no consent message is shown, the setting stays denied and no analytics cookie is set. Under the GDPR you also have the right to ask what data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing — for Google's share of it, use your Google account privacy controls; for anything this site holds, which is only what is listed above as stored on your own device, you can erase it yourself with the button in that section.
Depending on your state you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. This site does not sell personal information for money, does not collect sensitive categories of it, and never receives your documents at all. The advertising opt-out above is the mechanism for the sharing right, and Global Privacy Control signals are honoured automatically.
