Crop Image
Crop to a shape, a ratio or exact pixel bounds.
About Crop Image
Drag a crop box over the image, snap it to a common aspect ratio, or type exact pixel bounds — then export the result as PNG, JPEG or WebP. Made for profile pictures, banner images and getting something unwanted out of the frame.
Cropping is the one edit almost every image needs and the one that is hardest to do casually — the operating system’s viewer wants to save over the original, and a full editor is a long way to go to remove a parked car from the corner of a photograph.
Drag a box, snap it to a ratio if a platform demands one, and take the result. The original is never touched, because it never leaves your disk.

How Crop Image works in your browser
The crop box is tracked in the source image’s own pixel coordinates rather than in the size the preview happens to be drawn at, so the cut is made against the full-resolution image and the result does not depend on the size of your screen. The same coordinates appear in the numeric fields, which is how an exact pixel crop is possible at all.
Ratio presets constrain the box as it is dragged, resizing from whichever corner is opposite the handle you grabbed — square for avatars, 4:3 and 3:2 for photographs, 16:9 for banners and thumbnails, portrait variants for phone-first layouts. Free-form leaves it alone.
Output can be PNG, JPEG or WebP. Choosing JPEG flattens transparency onto a colour you pick rather than onto black, which is the default behaviour that surprises people.
When to use it
Making a square profile picture from a photograph that is not square. Cutting a banner to the exact ratio a site specifies. Removing something from the edge of a screenshot before sharing it. Straightening up a photographed document by trimming the desk out of the frame.
Frequently asked questions
What ratios are built in?
Square for avatars, 4:3 and 3:2 for photographs, 16:9 for banners and video thumbnails, and free-form for everything else. The box snaps to the ratio while you drag it.
Is the crop applied to the real image or the preview?
The real one. The preview is scaled to fit your screen, and the box coordinates are scaled back up to the original pixels before the crop runs, so you never lose resolution to the size of your monitor.
Can I crop to an exact pixel size?
Yes. Type the bounds directly when a platform has told you precisely what it wants — and the box on the preview moves to match.
