About HTML to Word

Convert HTML into a Word document with mapped heading styles, lists, tables and images, so content from a CMS or an email template becomes something a colleague can edit in Word.

Content that lives on the web often has to end up in Word — for review, for a submission, for someone who works that way.

Convert with heading styles, lists, tables and images mapped properly.

  • Processed on your deviceEverything you open or type here is handled by this page and never uploaded anywhere.
  • No queue, no limitsNothing waits on a server, so the only limit is your own hardware.
  • No account neededNo sign-up and no email address required.

How HTML to Word works in your browser

The markup is parsed in an inert document, converted into the structured document model, and written as a .docx using Word’s built-in styles. An h2 becomes a real Heading 2, not a large bold paragraph.

Images referenced in the markup are embedded into the document where they can be resolved. Nothing is fetched from the network during conversion, so a remote image that is not already inline as a data URI cannot be included — that restriction is the same one that stops a converted document phoning home.

CSS is deliberately not carried across. Word’s formatting model and CSS overlap only partially, and a conversion that tried to reproduce every declaration produces a document nobody can restyle. Structure converts; presentation is left to Word.

When to use it

  • Getting web content into Word for a colleague to review and comment on.
  • Converting an HTML report into a document that must go into a corporate template.
  • Turning generated markup into a submission that has to be a .docx.
  • Producing an editable document from a page without a round trip through copy and paste.

Frequently asked questions

What is this useful for?

Turning content from a CMS, a newsletter or an email template into something a colleague can edit in Word, without copying and pasting and losing the structure.

Do headings become real Word styles?

Yes. Heading tags map to Word heading styles, and lists and tables map to their Word equivalents, so the document behaves properly once opened.

Are images included?

Images embedded in the markup are carried into the document. Images referenced from a remote server are not fetched.
