About Word to PDF
Convert Word documents to PDF in the browser. Headings, paragraph styles, bold and italic runs, bullet and numbered lists, tables and inline images are laid out onto real pages with selectable text.
Sending a Word document means trusting the recipient’s software to render it the way you saw it. Sending a PDF means it renders identically everywhere, which is why almost every formal submission asks for one.
Conversion happens here, so a document that is not ready to be public does not become public in order to be converted.

How Word to PDF works in your browser
Mammoth reads the .docx and reconstructs it as semantic HTML — headings as headings, lists as lists, tables as tables — and that structured result is laid out into pages and written as a PDF.
Working from structure rather than from Word’s exact page geometry is a deliberate trade. It produces a clean, correctly ordered document with real selectable text and working links, and it does not attempt to reproduce Word’s own line-breaking decisions to the millimetre.
So expect faithful content and sensible layout, and expect page breaks to fall where this engine puts them rather than exactly where Word put them. Complex floating layouts, text boxes and elaborate section formatting are the areas where the two diverge most; ordinary documents — letters, reports, CVs, contracts — convert closely.
When to use it
Submitting a CV or application where the posting asks for a PDF. Sending a quotation or contract that must not be casually edited in transit. Producing a document that will look the same on a phone, a Mac and a printer. Converting a draft containing confidential information, where a server-side converter would mean uploading it first.

Frequently asked questions
Will the PDF look pixel-identical to Word?
Not always. Word’s layout engine is proprietary, so complex floating layouts, text boxes and custom fonts may reflow. Typical business documents — reports, letters, CVs — convert faithfully.
