About Markdown to HTML

Convert Markdown to HTML with GitHub-flavoured extensions. Export a fragment for pasting into a CMS, or a complete standalone page with styles inlined so it renders anywhere.

Markdown was designed as a shorthand for HTML, so this is the most faithful of the conversions — close to one to one.

Export a fragment to paste into a page, or a complete document.

  • Processed on your deviceEverything you open or type here is handled by this page and never uploaded anywhere.
  • No queue, no limitsNothing waits on a server, so the only limit is your own hardware.
  • No account neededNo sign-up and no email address required.

How Markdown to HTML works in your browser

Marked parses with GitHub-flavoured extensions enabled, so tables, task lists, fenced code blocks and strikethrough all convert rather than passing through as literal text.

The output is sanitised with DOMPurify before it is shown or exported. Markdown permits raw HTML inline, which means a document from elsewhere can carry markup you would not want to run — sanitising is what makes converting someone else’s file safe.

Fragment mode gives you just the content, for pasting into an existing page or template. Document mode wraps it in a complete file. Neither adds styling of its own, which is deliberate: on a web page those decisions belong to your stylesheet.

When to use it

  • Publishing Markdown-authored content to a CMS that expects HTML.
  • Getting formatted content into an email template.
  • Converting notes into a page you can host directly.
  • Producing clean HTML from a Markdown file without a build pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a complete page rather than a fragment?

Yes. Export a bare fragment for pasting into a CMS, or a standalone page with styles inlined so it renders correctly anywhere on its own.

Which Markdown extensions are supported?

GitHub-flavoured Markdown, so tables, task lists, strikethrough and fenced code blocks convert as you would expect.

Is the HTML safe to publish?

The output is sanitised, so raw HTML embedded in the Markdown cannot smuggle scripts into the result.
